ERA Onsite Solutions was established in 2012 and in Partnership with Environmental Recycling Alternatives (ERA Holdings), has over the past couple of years jointly provided holistic waste management solutions to many of South Africa's companies. This holistic service has historically included the management of waste streams from point of generation to recycler, beneficiator, manufacturer and finally disposal.
With the recent legislative changes to waste management, many industries have shown a willingness to minimise their operations environmental impact and as a result thereof a change in the service requirements from these industries. This includes the provision of an integrated waste management service integrating a number of services and service providers into one sustainable, holistic integrated waste management system.
ERA has therefore developed an Integrated Waste Management Solution in line with current Environmental legislative requirements meeting the needs of various stakeholders.
ERA Onsite Solutions now has a dedicated Integrated On-site Waste Management Division responsible for all aspects of on Integrated Waste Management including but not limited to the following:
• Site Management
• The Provision of On-Site Personnel
• Waste Identification and Separation
• Waste Minimisation
• Maximising Resource Recovery
• The Provision of Accurate Environmental Reporting (Triple Bottom Line Reporting)
ERA Holdings is one of the best waste management companies, and is dedicated to being the best, and remaining the best. Our combined 44 years of business have taught us many valuable lessons that ensure that we identify opportunities for growth. We have grown from our experiences, and believe it is how we have learnt from these experiences, which defines our business, and allows ERA Onsite to prepare for our next success.
The Essence of lntegrated on-site waste management is being given the responsibility to "own" all waste streams generated on site. This enables the on-site waste management staff to control the waste management from the point of generation to the point of off-take, beneficiation or disposal.
Changing legislation in South Africa has placed increased emphasis on the management of waste by industry. The Waste Generator needs to be aware of their responsibility with regards to the generation, handling and disposal of waste with the focus being on the protection of our water resources and the environment i.e. a Cradle to Grave knowledge of all wastes generated and the management thereof.
The Status Quo investigation outlined in our assessment, will provide you with current information on your waste streams, handling methods and disposal points. This information should be used to agree waste targets, baselines objectives and the Group's Sustainability and Environmental Policy.
The recommendations are intended to provide you an awareness of what recommended improvements can be implemented in order to provide you with a successful waste management program and Environmental Waste Management solution and system.
The report should be viewed as a working document and offers insight into the environmental impact of waste generated by your organization. This information can be incorporated into your organizations Sustainability Report. The information will provide:
